The Wizard of Oz: Wicked Riches is the most latest of WMS’s three Wizard of Oz slots, following the original and Ruby Slippers. There are free spins, tornadoes, and flying monkeys. Curious? To find out more, read our in-depth analysis of this slot machine.
The Wicked Riches Slot Machine, Inspired by the Wizard of Oz
The Wizard of Oz (1939), adapted on L. Frank Baum’s 1900 children’s classic, is widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. WMS has released not one, not two, but three different online slot machines based on the narrative because of how popular it is. The third, Wicked Riches, is based on the legend of the Wicked Witch of the West and has a darker tone overall. The reels represent objects connected with the witch, such as her pointed hat, broomstick, and the bucket of water that kills her in the famous tale, while the background display is black and dark purple and a creepy song plays every time you spin.
There is a jackpot symbol that pays out the most, much as in the other games in the Wizard of Oz series. Five of them will result in a payout of 10,000 times your line bet. The Wizard of Oz logo is both the highest paying regular symbol (1,000 for five) and a wild (can replace any symbol save the jackpot and bonus icon) in the game. With a fixed 30 paylines, you can adjust your wager to any of the following values: 0.30, 0.60, 0.90, 1.20, or 2.40.
Features, Bonuses, and Symbols of the Wizard of Oz: Wicked Riches Slot
There are three more features available in the Wizard of Oz: Wicked Riches slot game. When the Flying Monkey appears on the middle three, be on the lookout for swarms of flying monkeys that can come at any time throughout the basic game. These beasts aren’t harmful, though; instead, they cause symbols at random to become wild.
The Tornado Bonus is a two-part feature that can occur at any time following a spin. You start by selecting one of eight barns, each of which either a cash award or cash prize with a bonus feature. With the barns, you may win up to seven times your initial wager. Then the twister will decide which of four progressive jackpots you win; the largest of them is the Emerald City jackpot. The contents of each pot are displayed at the top of the screen in the default mode.
Finally, if you get three or more of the Wicked Riches bonus symbols, you’ll trigger the Free Spins bonus. Doing so also yields a win, with a payout of 100 times your original wager for five bonus signs. You’ll start with eight free spins and a multiplier between two and ten, applied by the Wicked Witch. Getting the bonus characters again will give you eight extra free spins.
While the Wicked Riches slot game’s gameplay and features may not be as extensive as those of its predecessor, Ruby Slippers, the maximum prize in the Tornado feature may be more than enough to blow you away. Why not see what the Wicked Witch has in store for you by paying her a visit.
